A creative type foundry curated around the theory of evolution and natural selection. TypeMonkey is trusted for reviving outdated type into new, beautiful type that stands the test of time.

To build a creative online environment for professional designers who seek timeless typography.

11x17'' with 1/2'' borders.

Summary Design Statement 

The goal of this project is to design a creative and informative design poster for TypeMonkey, an established and professional type foundry that aims to revive existing fonts that will stand the test of time.

Type Anatomy Definitions



1. Overhang - An ascender that extends into the space of a previous or subsequent character. 2. Stem - The principle verticle or oblique element(s) of a letterform. 3. Tie - A stroke that joins two letterforms together. 4. Ascender - The part of a lowercase that extends above the body of the letterform. 5. Axis - The inclination of thin and thick, curved stems or strokes in a letterform. 6. Counter - An area fully or partially enclosed by a bowl or a cross bar of a letterform. 7. Teardrop Terminal - A teardrop-shaped termianl located at a stroke end to a lowercase letterform. 8. Loop - The counter or descender of a lowercase, double-story g when it is entirely enclosed. 9. Link - A stem or stroke that connects the bowl and the loop of a g. 10. Ear - A small projecting stroke of a letterform. 11. Aperature - The rounded, partially enclosed negative space in a letterform. 12. Shoulder - The portion of a curved stroke projecting from a stem of a letterform connecting two verticle strokes or stems. 13. Cross Bar - A horizontal element connecting two verticle or diagonal stems or strokes of a letterform, or crossing a stem or a stroke of a letterform. 14. Arc - A curved stroke of a letterform that extends from a stem. 15. Spine - The diagonal portion or main curve an S. 16. Angled Terminal - A terminating stroke cut at an angle. 17. Descender - The part of a letterform that falls below the body of the letterform. 18. Bowl - A curved stem or stroke of a letterform that encloses a counter. 19.
